We are very pleased to announce that Rigby Hall School has now become a 'Widgit Centre'. Widgit is a company who support our pupils, by making a computer software package, which in turn we use to create symbolised text or symbols, that all teachers and support staff use within our school. This is part of our school 'Total Communication Approach' and is used to support reading, signing, signage and using symbols.

The programme we currently use is called 'Communicate in Print'. As a Widgit Centre, our outreach team are able to support the use of Communicate in Print to other schools, colleges or parents if needed. We may also be asked by Widgit, to trial exciting new technology to support children with additional needs. If you would like any symbols to support your child's communication at home, please speak to your child's class teacher in the first instance
