Careers and Destinations
Rigby Hall School are very fortunate to have Tom George as our Transitions and Careers Adviser.
Tom’s role within the school is to provide help and support to young people with planning for the future and moving on from school. The aim of his work is to help ensure all young people have a planned and informed progression from school and that they access positive destinations and have the best chance to reach their full potential.
The focus of transitions planning begins during Year 9 and is on-going through the remaining time at school. The work involves meeting young people in school and getting to know their interests, aspirations and support needs. This is done through seeing students 1:1, group work and meeting with parents and carers through review meetings and at other convenient times.
The transitions work involves providing information and guidance about post school options and working in close liaison with a wide range of providers, support organisations and statutory agencies.
Tom is at Rigby Hall School Mondays and Tuesdays every other week throughout the school year and is contactable throughout the week.
